Products you should sell on eBay, Amazon or Flipkart

Many of you must have thought about selling things online but then stopped at what to sell man. First thing comes into your mind is
selling the electronics like mobile phones or tabs etc. But these things are like commodities and bulk buying is not possible as they are costly and difficult to get the economies of scale and make some profit out of it. Moreover there is a lot of competition in this space. So how to find out Products you should sell on eBay, Amazon or Flipkart.

Let me tell you some of the ways which I came across

1) Popularity Index on sites: Amazon and Flipkart are here in India from quite some time and mostly work same ways as eBay. But on both these sites you can find out the Best sellers or popular products.

Let’s take an example of Books. Go to Amazon and Click on Books >Bestsellers

And here you get the top best sellers on a fast growing site.

Lets go a step further and find out best sellers in Romance category on Amazon, Below is the list of bestsellers in Romance on Amazon

You can use the same way on flipkart but here you can see the popularity in the categories only

So now you know what the hot sellers in books are and find out if you can get books at a lower price and list your product online.

In similar ways you can find out other products.

Mind it you also have to bear the packaging and shipping costs so take that also in account

2) In India, we are very fortunate that there are 10/15 big festivals every year and this is the best time to sell gift items. Check out the various sites like IndianGiftPortal or other sites you may have known/used and find out top gifts. For example during Diwali you can sell designed candles or Idols and during Holi you can sell color pouches etc. Also even during the major sport tournament you can sell sporting goods. For example Football world cup is coming and you can sell T shirts or Footballs etc. Similarly during IPL or world cup you can sell Cricket bats, Jersey etc.

3) You can also sell things which you do not use at your home for example old used jeans or anything you brought while visiting any religious temples or any other tourist destination etc. which you do not use any more. You can also sell old coins, antique items.

4) You can also store and sell low margin things like electronics, camera, DVDs etc but it gives you a good rating on these sites. Remember people will see your rating before ordering any product from you.

5) Some of the most stable products are Kitchenware, Toys, Accessories like Caps, Sunglasses, Belts etc.
